What began as a Utopian community on the eastern shores of Mobile, Fairhope, is still a haven for those seeking beauty and the good life. All the public waterfront and old live oaks that were saved in the original founders vision give life into the town and the people who live here. At 108 Gaston, we discovered a true Bay cottage, built in the late 1800’s, two blocks from the bay, and with just enough - a screened porch, old wood floors and a simple layout. We have added a pool and hot tub, and use it both as a family place, and a retreat space for writers, artists, and extended family and friends. There is a quiet desk at which to write, and an outdoor workspace for painting and ceramics. Please get in touch if you’d like to apply for time to work here. Length of stay depends on time of year and project at hand.
